Our Aims & Values

At Patcham Village Pre-school we support all children to build those all important blocks for all future learning. The experiences we provide fosters independence, challenges minds and bodies and help children learn as they play, and most importantly learn how to learn.

Our aims and values are borne from a collective combination of children’s, families and practitioner voices and form the foundations of what we are built upon at Patcham Village Pre-school.

We aim to:

  • Provide a place where children feel happy, secure and independent and motivated to learn; encouraging curiosity and building life skills.
  • Recognise and nurture each individual quality every child brings.
  • Through meaningful activities and provision we promote children’s health and wellbeing.
  • Work in partnership with parents/carers and other professionals in an environment where children are at the heart of everything we do.
  • Provide the highest quality of care and education to all children.

Staff plan and provide a wide variety of interesting activities and experiences for children based on a good understanding of their interests and needs. Children join in enthusiastically and make good progress in their development from their starting points.

Our values are based on what we believe to be the importance of a rich and successful early years experience:

  • We respect and value the importance of a ‘Child centred’ approach in all that we do at Patcham Village Pre-school, recognising that each child is unique and have individual needs and interests which are central to their development.
  • We respect and value the importance of working with parents and carers to support the children in our care.
  • We respect and value the well-being of our staff and the skills and knowledge they bring to contribute to our provision and practice.

'When values, thoughts, feelings, and actions are in alignment, a person becomes focused and character is strengthened.'
